thank you from the Greystanes FC community

Thank You!

The refurbishment of our amenities building is complete !!

Greystanes FC have would like to acknowledge and thank :

⭐️ The Hon. Dr. Hugh McDermott MP, whose commitment and support of our Greystanes FC community is very much appreciated.

⭐️ Mayor Greg Cummings, whose commitment and support of our Greystanes FC community is also very much appreciated and all the staff at Council who supported us with many services and support. ⭐️ Special thanks to Jackie, Emma, Adrian, Matt, Mark and Danny.

This project is a great example of what can be achieved when State, Council and hardworking sporting bodies collaborate for the good of the community.

The Club was established in 1970 and the current Bathurst Street Park amenities block was opened in August 1991 (Holroyd City Council) and by 2018 needed some urgent repair works.

In 2018, we were successful in obtaining a Local Sport Grant from the NSW State government of $20,000 with Cumberland Council contributing a further $35,000, providing a total budget of $55,000 for the refurbishment of our amenities block and additional storage area. With contributions from sponsors and many, many voluntary hours donated by Club members, we undertook the works at Bathurst St Park. This collaborative effort achieved greater than the sum of the various contributions; If 100% of the works were contracted to third parties, this project would have cost the community approximately $100,000.

Refurbishment works were completed in the Home, Visitors and Referees change rooms plus the men’s & women’s toilets. We have new stainless steel showers, toilets and cisterns, new tiles, new ceilings and paint. We repurposed an old under-utilised building to become a large storage shed, In addition we built a new landing area with seating around our famous BBQ.

Greystanes FC is the largest grass roots sports club within the Granville Association and within Cumberland Council LGA with 812 active male and female football players. Volunteers are critical to any community. They freely share their time, talents and skills without any compensation, so it's especially important to acknowledge when their contributions go beyond what can reasonably be expected. Greystanes FC is fortunate to have had the dedication of many volunteers over the past 5 decades.

It's always a good time to thank our sponsors and volunteers but this is a time when it's especially appropriate. Our Greystanes FC community is managed by a well organised and committed volunteer Football Operations Committee (FOC).

Greystanes FC would very much like to acknowledge the extra contributions and thank the following sponsors and volunteers:

⭐️ Frank Labra for donating project management.

⭐️ George Hadid for donating building works.

⭐️ Paul Laukka for donating concrete works.

⭐️ Dave Mandic for donating electrical works.

⭐️ Kent & Jo Seymour + Alex Soyer for donating painting works.

⭐️ Shane, Troy and Lee for demolition and handyman volunteering.

⭐️ Many other members, players, coaches, managers, parents and Greystanes FC Committee, who contributed; you know who you are.
